This xxxx BMW 128i Convertible is made for the summer! In fact, it's made for Texas because the temperature is so great MOST of the time! It is a striking Crimson Red with black leather interior and black convertible top.US News and World Reports review of the 1-series for xxxx had great things to say -- "Exceptional Handling"; "Powerful engine choices" and "High-quality interior." The primary negative was the lack of cargo space which is unfortunately typical of a convertible. Hey -- you need to give up something for all that open air! "Regardless of model, car reviewers agreed that the xxxx 1-Series is incredibly fun thanks to ample power, precise steering and strong brakes." Article can be read here. Edmunds reviews had this to say, "For the money, it's hard to think of a car that puts together as much performance, handling, refinement and user-friendliness in one package as the xxxx BMW 1 Series."This particular vehicle started in Tulsa, OK and like all good Okies, moved to Texas within 3 years. It then lived in Boerne and the Austin area until we picked it up and Simplified it into a SimpleCar!! Driving took a little toll on the vehicle and there are some blemishes as a consequence. The significant ones have been touched up but you can see all of them in our blemish report.The 128i's 3.0L I6 produces 230 HP -- perfect for some romping but not so hard on gas as the 135i version. Some of the really cool features include: adaptive brake lights (these increase in intensity as the brakes are pressed harder), a fully automatic convertible top (hold the button and it does everything else), rain-sensing windshield wipers (why be bothered with having to turn on your own wipers when it begins raining!), a dual-zone AC with climate control and a mode specific to the convertible, AM/FM/CD with USB and AUX inputs, and heated front seats. From a safety standpoint, this vehicle has 4-wheel ABS, crash sensor, dynamic stability control, LATCH for rear seats, and a rollover protection system. Here's BMW's description of the roll-over system: "Concealed behind the two rear headrests of the BMW 1 Series Convertible are two built-in roll-over bars. Extremely precise sensors permanently monitor the tilt of the vehicle, longitudinal and lateral acceleration as well as contact with the ground and are thus instantly able to detect any threat of the vehicle overturning. If an accident occurs, the roll-over bars shoot up in a fraction of a second and provide safe protection for the vehicle occupants.
